The Mitsubishi i is headed to San Antonio.
There’s a new car in the top spot of the Greenest Cars List for 2012. The Mitsubishi i has taken the point position on the list, overtaking the natural gas Honda entry from a year ago. The list, compiled by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, included 12 cars with the Mitsubishi i taking the win.

The town of Normal, IL recently became "eTown."
First, the Mitsubishi i was sold to customers in Hawaii. Then, it arrived in the continental United States in the west. Now, it has made another stop – Normal, IL. The Mitsubishi i has come to Normal as further promotion by Mitsubishi. Six brand new Mitsubishi i cars were given to city council members to drive around the town, making it an “eTown.” Normal is the site of a the U.S. Mitsubishi manufacturing plant as well as the setting for a recent commercial about the new electric car.

New Mitsubishi floor mats are more eco-friendly.
As the crew at Mission Mitsubishi waits for the arrival of the Mitsubishi i, the company’s first entrance into the electric vehicle market, we have caught wind of yet another “green” innovation from the company. Mitsubishi Motors has announced its plans for a new floor mat that uses plant-based bio-polyethylene fiber. This will be a product from Mitsubishi’s “Green Plastic” segment.
The process of making the mats is complicated if you ask us at your premier Mitsubishi dealership in San Antonio. But, we will attempt to explain it here the best we can. As we understand the plant-based-bio-polyethylene, or bio-PE that the mats are made from, is a plant-based resin made using sugarcane molasses. It’s basically a thick syrup that comes out of the refinement of raw sugar.
The mats made from the bio-PE fiber are a continuation of Mitsubishi’s goal of reducing petroleum-based plastics and cutting CO2 emissions into the future. It is also a very useful material, as the mats will be stronger than traditional mats, and will be able to stand up to wear and tear well.
